Four & Five Year Olds is for children entering Kindergarten fall 2014, with three-day and five-day programs available. The philosophy behind our preschool (a well as many of the area school districts) is to have the children's social, emotional and language skills developed. Totem Preschool exposes the children to pre-math and pre-reading materials through the use of Success reading and writing activities and Math-Their-Way curriculum. Each week the children experience music, stories, nature, games, art projects and gym activities. The importance of sharing, patience, negotiating and making choices are stressed. Our children are enriched with a variety of field trips and community specialists that visit our classroom. Self esteem is built through our performances and shows.
Three & Four Year Olds may attend a two-day program. This age group is social, verbal and extremely independent. Totem Preschool fosters these characteristics through many activitiies in social situations. Activities are sensory stimulated to satisfy curious and creative minds. Our "Circle Time" follows themes appropriate to holidays and seasons. Activities include stories, music, pre-math, pre-writing and sharing. Art is balanced to stimulate creative and artistic abilities as well as enhance small motor development. In each class the children participate in stimulating and physical activities at Northwest Aerials School of Gymnastics and Dance.
Totem Extended Care is provided for any child enrolled at Totem Preschool. The children are entertained with art, gymnastics, games and a variety of other stimulating activities. Children need to bring their own lunch and drink.
